FC 27 SBC solutions: how to solve any challenge cheaply

How SBCs work in FC 27 (Streamlined and Traditional), how to read the requirements, and a repeatable method for cheap solutions that keeps working when the weekly challenges change.

Honest note first: exact SBC solutions change every week, and the same challenge can come back with different requirements. We do not publish copy-and-paste squads that go stale in a day. This guide gives you the method; the requirements screen in game is always the final word.

Two kinds of SBC in FC 27

FC 27 splits Squad Building Challenges into two formats, and they reward very different habits.

• Streamlined SBCs. New this year. You do not build an eleven at all. You pick eligible items from your club and each one adds to a target score. EA says the score comes from an item's overall rating, its rarity and whether it is Holographic, that you can submit across several visits, and that duplicates count. EA plans to use this format for most Player and Upgrade SBCs.
• Traditional SBCs. The classic puzzle: eleven players with position, chemistry and rating rules. EA is keeping these for the more puzzle-like challenge SBCs.

So the first job on any challenge is to check which format it uses, because the cheapest answer is completely different.

Solving Streamlined SBCs cheaply

1. Feed the score with items you will never play. Duplicates are accepted, so your pile of repeat pulls is the obvious first source.
2. Mind the bonuses. Rarity and Holographic status add to an item's score, so a special card can be worth more here than its overall suggests. Great for a spare you cannot use; think twice before handing in a special card you would actually field.
3. Use partial progress. You do not have to finish in one sitting. Chip away after each pack session instead of buying items to finish today.
4. Compare before you commit. When several challenges accept the same items, check which reward is best for the same fodder.

Solving Traditional SBCs cheaply

1. Lock the hard rules first. Club, league, nation, rarity and minimum counts cannot be fudged, so fill them with your cheapest qualifying cards.
2. Then the rating. One or two cards well above the average lift the squad rating more than the plain average suggests. Our squad rating formula guide shows the numbers.
3. Chemistry last. If there is a chemistry minimum, fix it with positions and links before swapping in pricier players. See chemistry basics.
4. Untradeables before tradeables. An untradeable card has no market value to you, so it is always the cheaper choice for any slot it qualifies for.

Which SBCs are worth it?

• Usually worth it: upgrade and repeatable SBCs that turn duplicates into packs, especially Streamlined ones where duplicates count.
• Worth it if you will play the reward: player SBCs that fix the weakest spot in your starting eleven for several weeks.
• Usually skip: expensive player SBCs for a position you are already happy with, and anything you could only finish by buying lots of cards on the day it drops, when prices tend to be highest.

Our quick test: will I use this reward, can I pay for it mostly with fodder, and will it still matter in two weeks? Two yes answers is a green light.

Read the requirements screen twice

Before submitting, read every requirement line again, check the expiry time and check whether the reward is tradeable. Most wasted SBCs come from missing one line, not from bad maths.
